What is Meditation?

Meditation has been practiced in various forms for thousands of years. There are different types of meditation. Some are difficult and require concentration. Ours is a simple, natural effortless technique. The meditation we use we call Altered State Meditation® which is predominantly Vedic meditation, which is more well known as Transcendental Meditation. Over 10 million people have learned Transcendental Meditation.

Our meditation uses a technique to slow down and even stop the constant chatter of the mind so you can gain control over your mental processes, thus achieving a more relaxed state. There is no concentrating or trying to empty your mind involved. It is completely effortless.

There have been a considerable number of studies proving the effectiveness of this type of meditation. This type of meditation has been used in schools, businesses, prisons and universities. Many celebrities practice this type of meditation including Jennifer Aniston, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Camron Diaz, Russell Brand, Jerry Seinfeld, Katy Perry, Sky Ferreira, Sheryl Crow and Ellen DeGeneres.

The mind is like the ocean in that your thoughts are the waves, and the ocean is the still mind beneath. Like the waves that sit upon the surface and form only a very small part of the ocean, your thoughts represent only a very small part of your mind. Essentially, your thoughts could represent just 1% of your mind. However, most people believe they are only their thoughts!

So, you will be pleased to learn that your worries, fears, anxiety, negative emotions and the like, are not really you. They are not your true self; they are the false in you. Meditation gives you access to the silent part of your mind, where you can observe this false part of you. You can observe your thoughts and as you develop a sense of self separation, you are able to gain control over your thoughts and in turn your negative emotions.

The type of meditation which I use is your journey to profound inner peace. This is an ancient practice, rooted in the ancient Vedic tradition, being a mantra-based technique designed to help you transcend ordinary thought and access a profound state of inner peace and clarity. Discover the power of silent meditation and its countless benefits. Its practice is effortless and doesn’t involve concentration or control of the mind. It just needs to be practiced for 20 minutes per day although you can practice for longer if you would like too.
